5.11 Demonstrate differentiation of instruction for all students utilizing increasingly complex print and digital text.

Differentiating instruction is important for students so they are able to work to their full potential. Even though our class is grouped by ability, we still have a wide variety of readers in the class. There are a couple of students that read up to a 2.6 grade level, and many that read at a kindergarten level. We group the students according to their STAR test results so that way they can get the reading instruction that they need during centers. We also use a variety of leveled readers so the text fits their reading level. To incorporate technology, the students use Compass, which pinpoints where they are at based on their skill level.
