5.1 Use assessment and data analysis to monitor student progress and guide instruction over time to ensure an increase in student learning.

The above photos represent data collected from the STAR test results. Most of the students in the class struggle with reading and read below their grade level. All of the students, with the exception of two, made growth. None of the scores were a surprise, and the two that did not improve are two that struggle and do not enjoy reading. The students showed that they need a great deal of help and support to get their scores up. It is important to look at the scores in a multitude of ways in order to appropriately differentiate instruction. The reading capstone as a whole is a great way to capture all of the scaffolding and activities used to implement and improve reading.
